Information for Guests

Travel Arrangements

Lakeland is midway on the I-4 corridor between Orlando and Tampa, Florida. Both Orlando and Tampa have international airports, but there are no direct commercial flights to Lakeland. As a point of reference, our guests' hotel is 40 miles from Tampa International Airport (TPA) and 50 miles from Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Guests driving to Lakeland should consult Google Maps or their favorite atlas for the best route.

Hotel Information

Because we know many of you are coming from out of town, we've selected Crestwood Suites in Lakeland as our preferred hotel for the wedding. (Hotels.com has some photos of the Lakeland Crestwood Suites on their website.)

To get the group rates, you must call the hotel at (863) 904-2050 and request the "Clark-Denham Wedding" rate. Crestwood Suites won't offer the rate via their website.

There are four types of rooms to choose from: double/double suite (group rate: $74.99/night), single queen suite ($69.99), single king suite ($74.99), and executive king suite ($79.99). All of the rooms have a small kitchen with microwave and full size refrigerator, as well as a small sitting area with pull-out couch. Continental breakfast (with Belgian waffles!) is included.

The hotel is located immediately off of I-4 and close to many restaurants, including Cracker Barrel (across the street), Applebee's (within walking distance), and Five Guys Burgers and Fries (a mile or so down the road).

The hotel is approximately 5 miles (15 min drive) from the hotel to the First United Methodist Church (ceremony), and approximately 6 miles from the hotel to the Lakeland Yacht Club (reception).

Transportation

We are still negotiating for transportation from the hotel to/from the ceremony and reception. Please stay tuned to this page.

What To Do in Lakeland / Greater Central Florida Area

Since our wedding is not until 5pm on Saturday, we would love for you to explore the area!

The hotel is located near the Joker Marchant Stadium, the spring training home of the Detroit Tigers, and if there's a game, we encourage you to check it out!

Other things to do include touring the Hollis Gardens/Lake Mirror Promenade, downtown shopping, or taking a quick trip to Orlando or Tampa (both about 50 miles in either direction on I-4). Ben says, "I also hear there's a magical kingdom nearby, but that might just be folklore."

We've provided some links that will hopefully help you plan your day in Lakeland. Maggie says, "Just don't forget, the wedding starts at 5!"
